Identity Chair

Mexico City               2021

The “Identity Chair” is a project made in 2020 for two personalities, two seats, one supported by the other. The concept arose with the idea of creating an empathic seat, creating a bond between individuals at rest and being able to sit in the other's place. It escalated by creating a seat for the person in the back, despite not meeting them face-to-face. This seat supports two personalities and invites them to come out of their skins, the first seat supports, understands and listens to the person seating behind. The second seat learns to be loved, to receive help and to appreciate the work of others despite not being able to see their strength directly.

The seats are two-tone vinyl and the structure is made of steel. The two legs are interspersed, they represent a simple hug and reflect the affection that the two people could have without the need to touch.
