Gunmetal Patinaed Brass, Soft Glass, Jute Wool, Oak Wood
Developed in the context of freelance work for David Zwirner Gallery, this custom designed ring box was fabricated in metal, glass, wood, and upholstery, the piece investigates how precision and restraint can elevate a functional object into a refined experience.

The design integrates a custom-made internal locking mechanism that seamlessly secures a ring within the box. The system is fully concealed, with the key access hidden within the object itself, allowing the interaction to remain discreet and intuitive. This hidden functionality emphasizes a sense of discovery while maintaining a clean and uninterrupted exterior.

The contrast between materials plays a central role in the overall expression. The transparency of the glass preserves a sense of lightness and visibility, while the gunmetal black finish of the brass structure introduces depth and subtlety. Together, these elements create a balance between exposure and protection, resulting in an object that is both delicate and precise.
